Total active H₂ projects have increased by nearly 100 month-over-month (March–April), according to Gulf Energy Information’s Global Energy Infrastructure (GEI) database. With nearly 50% market share, Western Europe continues to account for most H₂ projects under development, followed by the Asia-Pacific region (22%) and the U.S. (13%). Although active H₂ projects have continued to increase over the past 2 yr, less than 10% of these projects are under construction. According to the GEI database, 93% of active H₂projects are in pre-construction phases, with the majority of those in the planning phase (57%) followed by proposed projects (36%).
