First Hydrogen pursues Quebec’s integration by joining Hydrogéne Quebec
First Hydrogen plans to produce up to 35 MW of green H2 using advanced electrolysis technology and distribute the H2 within the Montreal-Quebec City corridor for use with the company’s H2-fuel-cell-powered vehicles as well as supporting other H2-fueled vehicles and applications in the region.

Most industry analysts forecast a stark rise in H2 demand over the next 25 yr. According to the International Energy Agency, global H2 demand was approximately 91 MMt in 2021. Several industry forecasts show global H2 production reaching anywhere between 300 MMtpy and 650 MMtpy by 2050.

H2Tech: Projects Update
Fortescue Metals plans to develop a 300-MW green ammonia and fertilizer complex in Naivasha, Kenya. Once operational, the facility will increase domestic supplies of fertilizers and provide green H2 to the nation’s electric grid.
H2Tech: Global Projects Data
Total active H2 projects have increased by nearly 100 month-over-month (March–April), according to Gulf Energy Information’s Global Energy Infrastructure (GEI) database. With nearly 50% market share, Western Europe continues to account for most H2 projects under development, followed by the Asia-Pacific region (22%) and the U.S. (13%).

Air Products to build commercial-scale hydrogen refueling station in Canada
Air Products announced plans to build a multi-modal H2 refueling station near its new net-zero H2 energy complex under construction in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The H2 refueling station will be Air Products’ first in Canada and the first commercial-scale H2 refueling station in Alberta.
