Compressed Gas Association announces the formation of Hydrogen Membership

The Compressed Gas Association (CGA), with approval from the Board of Directors, has formed a new CGA Hydrogen Membership ensuring that perspectives from all segments of the H2 economy are represented as they continue to publish safety standards for this rapidly expanding industry.

“As the hydrogen market continues to grow in the Americas, especially on the heels of the Inflation Reduction Act which included $369 billion for climate and energy policies, it is imperative that CGA’s membership adapt to include manufacturers, distributors, and others in the hydrogen space,” said Rich Gottwald, President and CEO. “CGA has been at the forefront of publishing hydrogen safety standards since 1955 and more recently has been running a year-long public awareness campaign for hydrogen safety. Our work is just beginning, and we look forward to ensuring the bright future of hydrogen with our new Hydrogen Members.”

CGA’s Hydrogen Membership is open to any company engaged in the manufacture, sale, lease, transportation, or distribution of H2 or of equipment, materials, supplies, or technical services used specifically in connection with the H2 industry doing business or operating in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.

CGA Hydrogen Members will have voting rights on CGA’s Hydrogen Technology and HYCO Committees, free access to CGA’s electronic library of 25+ H2 publications, and access to CGA H2 events.

All CGA Hydrogen Membership applications are subject to approval by CGA.
