Germany's incoming government announced its energy policy with a heavy focus on hydrogen. It said that while green hydrogen is ramping up, they will also be open to all hydrogen-based technologies. Germany also wants its gas-to-power plants to be hydrogen-ready. It has announced a specific green energy target of 10 GW of electrolyzer capacity by 2030 as part of its new energy policy in pushing hydrogen initiatives forward. 

The incoming German coalition government will tighten up and accelerate its climate protection efforts by launching far-reaching reforms to its funding and expanding renewable energy.

At the centre of a raft of measures, the coalition said it will ensure a faster roll-out of carbon-free power capacity, more ambitious carbon emissions prices to incentivise a quick exit from fossil fuels and more aggressive support for a hydrogen economy, the agreement showed.
