Petrovietnam and Equinor conducted a meeting to promote clean energy development in Vietnam. Attending the meeting were Mr. Le Tien Hai - representative of the Norwegian Embassy; Ms. Nguyen Phuong - Head of Legal and External Relations Department. On Petrovietnam’s side, there were Mr. Pham Tien Dzung - Vice President; representative leaders of divisions/administration office.
On behalf of the Group’s leaders, President and CEO Le Manh Hung congratulated Ms. Anita H. Holgersen in her new position as Director of Equinor in Vietnam visiting and working with Petrovietnam.
At the meeting, Ms. Anita H. Holgersen thanked Petrovietnam’s leaders for their interest and favorable conditions for Equinor in recent years to research cooperation opportunities with Petrovietnam and its member units in participating in the development of energy projects in Vietnam.
Anita H. Holgersen also introduced about the capabilities, experience, and how Equinor transformed from a state-owned oil and gas group into an energy group. She said that Petrovietnam and Equinor had many similarities, same starting point as oil and gas companies. “We highly appreciate Petrovietnam with its role and position as the leading energy enterprise in Vietnam, as well as the leading capable and experienced unit in Southeast Asia in the field of processing, manufacturing, assembling, transportation and construction of offshore construction items”
Especially in the current global energy transition trend, Ms. Anita H. Holgersen hoped the cooperation relationship between Equinor and Petrovietnam would grow more and more and achieve more practical results in building and implementing investment cooperation in the field of energy, offshore wind power development, production of H2, ammonia, CCS/CCUS.
On behalf of Petrovietnam’s leaders, President and CEO Le Manh Hung highly appreciated the cooperation activities between Petrovietnam and Equinor recently in the field of offshore wind power.
Especially, with Equinor’s extensive experience in clean energy, President and CEO Le Manh Hung hoped that Equinor would expand cooperation with Petrovietnam in the field of clean energy, especially H2 production from offshore wind power. At the same time, President and CEO Le Manh Hung also hoped that Equinor would work with the Group’s member units such as PTSC, VSP..., support Petrovietnam’s member units to participate in Equinor’s projects not only in Vietnam market but in international markets.
In the field of offshore wind power, President and CEO Le Manh Hung hoped that, in the coming time, the two sides would continue to work together with the Government, ministries/sectors, localities... to develop a roadmap for the implementation of specific offshore wind power projects in Vietnam.
