According to Xinhua, China will build a H2 pipeline over 400 km to increase the efficiency of transferring clean fuels from the west to east. The project aims to channel H2 from Ulanqab to Beijing, and will be the country's first trans-regional, long-distance H2 pipeline.
The pipeline in the first phase will be able to handle about 100,000 tpy of H2 and has the potential to increase the capacity by 500,000 tpy. Once operational, the supply from Inner Mongolia will replace the H2 production from fossil fuels in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and accelerate trans-regional H2 transmission.
